Uniforms? Check. New shoes? Check. Key stage-appropriate stationery? Ummmm.
Knowing when your child needs a fountain pen or a protractor isn’t easy. Here’s a list of the stationery your child will need in each Key Stage:
Key Stage 1
5-7 year olds
- Pencils
- Colouring pencils
- Sharpener
- Eraser
Primary schools usually provide the basics at this age, so it’s worth checking with the school before going out and buying a whole new pencil case.
It’s worth having a ruler, scissors, and glue stick at home as well, so you’re well supplied for any homework projects.
STABILO recommendation:
Give your child some extra handwriting help by teaching them the correct grip with stationery that’s comfortable to hold.
The STABILO EASYergo 3.15, STABILO EASYergo 1.4 and STABILO EASYgraph are all pencils designed especially for children learning to write – for left and right handers. The STABILO EASYergo 1.4 is designed for children aged 8 and above – the next step up from the EASYergo 3.15. It helps relaxed hand posture and is easily refillable.
